Angela D (Sheick) Arnold

Angela D. Arnold, 82, of Houston, died Friday, December 1, 2017, in her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 2, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, a daughter of John Sheick and Ruth Elizabeth Sheick Tanner.

Angela was a 1952 graduate of West Branch High School in West Branch, Mich.  She went on to earn a degree in accounting from Baker University in Flint, Mich.

Angela worked in her field, first at General Motors Fisher Body Division in Grand Blanc, Michigan. 

After marrying Robert S. Arnold on December 6, 1955, she moved to Houston, Pennsylvania, where she worked at Home Furniture in Canonsburg and then at Mobay Chemical for over five years.  In 1967, she became secretary and treasurer of the family business, Arnold Pontiac-GMC, Inc.  Later she served as secretary and treasurer of API Leasing Corporation, Tri-State GMC, and Patsch Dodge.  She remained active in the family business until her death.

She was an avid gardener and Pittsburgh sports enthusiast, especially the Steelers and Penguins.

Angela was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her husband Bob; three children, Ruth May Zarger (Tony) of Rochester Hills, Mich., Shirley White (David) of Boomer, NC and Robert Arnold (Kim) of Chartiers Twp.; seven grandchildren, Jonathan and Rachael Zarger, Joshua White, Emily White Shumate, Daja Durkacs, and Shannon and Austin Arnold; four great grandchildren, Alexis, Addison and Maddox Durkacs, and Dexter Demian; two sisters, Nancy Burt (Bill) St. Clair, Missouri and Linda Stowell of South Lyon, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents are: three sisters, Carol Schuhmacher, Sharon Bunting and Arlene Smith; and her stepfather, Lawrence T. Tanner.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, with Rev. Emily Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
