Dorothy Maxine (Mack) Carver

Dorothy Maxine Carver, 87, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Washington and Chartiers Twp., died Friday, May 19, 2017, in Doctors Hospital, Columbus, OH.

She was born March 15, 1930, in Akron, OH, a daughter of John Henry Thomas and Lula Wright Mack.

Mrs. Carver had worked in the food service department at Kane Hospital.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, canning vegetables, baking, walking and bicycling and loved puzzles, reading and watching Jeopardy.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sherley “Shelley” Carver.

Surviving are: four children, Laura Davis (Mark) of Columbus, OH, Virgil and Aaron Carver of Canonsburg, and Maxwell Carver of Washington; three grandchildren, Keith and Jennifer Byrd and Markesha Davis; a great grandson, Jaden Hutchinson; a sister, Rita Jones of Akron, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are: five sisters, Alice Green, Elinor Barnes, Louise Mack, Eula Mae Mack and Joyce Scott; and a brother, Charles Mack.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m., with the service at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.  Interment is private.
