Elsie B. Smith

Elsie B. Smith, 85, of Upper St. Clair, formerly McMurray, died Monday, April 25, 2016, in Friendship Village.

She was born June 25, 1930, in Hickory, a daughter of Vance M. and Jane Morgan Smith.

Ms. Smith was a 1948 graduate of Hickory High School.

She retired in 1985 as a supervisor of data processing for Gulf Oil Corporation where she had worked for 36 years.

Ms. Smith enjoyed traveling and being with friends and family.

Surviving are: three sisters, Dorothy S. Walker of Hickory, Olive Ferrell of Deltona, FL, formerly Hickory, and Roberta “Bertie” Farrar (Larry) of Columbia, TN; two brothers, Robert M. Smith (Peggy) and Dick Smith both of Hickory; and many nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Arthur, Vance and Paul Smith, are deceased.

At the request of the deceased, all services are private and have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Kindred at Home Hospice, 190 Bilmar Drive, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
