Jean Elizabeth (Kunkle) Brytus

Jean Elizabeth Brytus, 93, of Houston, died Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the home of her son Alan.

She was born November 4, 1923 in Cecil, a daughter of Clara and Clarence Kunkle.

Mrs. Brytus was a 1942 graduate of Trinity High School.

She had worked at the Farmers Home Administration in Washington

Mrs. Brytus was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston where she had served as a Deacon. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and for Samaritans Purse where she wrapped over a 1000 shoe boxes for the Operation Christmas Child project.

On October 26, 1942, she married Anthony Brytus who passed away January 1, 1983.

Surviving are three sons, Terry Brytus (Lynn) of Cape Coral, FL, Richard Brytus (Linda) of Washington and Alan Brytus (Jeanne) of North Fayette Township; six grandchildren, Brian+ Brytus, Lori Brytus, Lisa Gurganus, Paul Brytus, David Brytus and Kathleen Brytus; two great granddaughters, Alayna Martin and Daniella Gurganus; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, Arthur Kunkle; and a sister Gladys Montecalvo.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the time of service Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, with Rev. Emily Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Green County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
