Kenneth F. Scouvart

Kenneth F. Scouvart, 68, of Houston, died unexpectedly of natural causes Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in his home.

He was born December 11, 1948, in Washington, a son of Dolores Capazzoli Caporosso of Burgettstown and the late Francis J. “Mank” Scouvart.

Mr. Scouvart was a 1966 graduate of Union High School and graduated from the Educational Institute of Pittsburgh where he studied Business Administration.

He had owned and operated Scouvart Car Sales in Avella, was a car salesman for Rudy Schreiber Chevrolet, and retired on December 31, 2013 following 32 years of employment to Ferro Corporation, formerly Drakenfeld, of Washington, where he never had a sick day.

Mr. Scouvart was a veteran having served in the Army from 1969 until 1971. He received the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Fort Jackson Certificate of Achievement. 

He was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Meadow Lands.

Mr. Scouvart enjoyed bowling, yard work and maintaining his vehicles.  He most loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

On February 28, 1970, he married Mary Carilli, who survives.

Also surviving are: two children, Michele Dami (Ron) of Canonsburg and Michael Scouvart (Melissa) of Venetia; four grandchildren, Linsey and Brandon Dami and Jack and Matthew Scouvart; two brothers, Marty Scouvert (Maria) of Binghamton, NY and David Caporosso (Cindy) of Burgettstown; six sisters, Debra Ensminger and Cheryl Ornelos of TX, Connie Roberts of Matthews, NC, Mary Karch (Gene Dell) of Eldersville, Barbara Korpos (Frank) of Weirton, WV and Patty McAllister (Bob) of Louisville, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his step-father, Anthony Caporosso, and step-mother, Martha Vale Scouvart.

Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where a blessing service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2017, with Father Carmen A. D’Amico officiating.  Interment will follow in West Middletown Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
