Lawrence E. Hauser

Lawrence E. Hauser, 79, of Houston, died Monday, February 6, 2017 in the Donnell House, Washington with his family by his side, following a lengthy illness.

He was born August 23, 1937 in Latrobe, a son of Jacob and Ruth Shirey Hauser.

Mr. Hauser was a 1955 graduate of Latrobe High School, attended Penn Technical School in Pittsburgh and was a member of the Army Reserves from 1956 until 1959.

He worked as an electronic technician for RCA and then Tach Tech in Meadow Lands for 21 years, retiring in 2002.

Mr. Hauser was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening.

On September 23, 1959, he married Lucy Ciocco who survives.

Also surviving are a son, David Hauser (Deborah) of Washington; two daughters, Christine Hauser of Houston and Jody Garboski (Matthew) of Oviedo, FL; four grandchildren, Nicholas Hauser (Maggie), Alexandra Hauser and Anthony and Samantha Garboski; several nieces and nephews; and his close friends in the Sunday morning golf gang.

Three brothers, Jacob, Zane and Byron Hauser are deceased.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 pm, the time of Blessing Service, Friday, February 10, 2017 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, with Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA 15301
