Margaret J. (Tilger) Gabster

Margaret Tilger Gabster, 102, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 17, 2017.

She was born March 12, 1915 in Bunola, a daughter of Nickolas and Josephine Yagoditch Tilger.

For many years, she lived and worked in Reseda, CA.  She was a hard worker and caregiver to many family and friends.

Margaret enjoyed gardening and was a good cook and baker.

On November 7, 1942, she married John Gabster who died May 2, 1973.

Surviving are a grandson, Timothy Gabster and a great grandson Jordan Gabster who both live in California; three sisters, Anna Murgel and Eleanor Tilger both of Canonsburg and Dorothy Watters of Hickory; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, John Wayne Gabster; a daughter Bonnie Gabster; three brothers, Michael, Charles and James Tilger; and four sisters, Helen Dalbo, Pauline Hancq, Ethel Nagy and Edna Moss.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, the time of service Sunday, August 20, 2017 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Services will begin at 8:00 pm with Rev. Craig Kephart officiating.  The family would like to acknowledge the Bethany Hospice for their care.
