Marilyn Shae Franko, 72, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Donnell House, Washington, with her family by her side.
She was born, July 19, 1944 in Washington, a daughter of John and Sadie Meredith Yancosek.
Mrs. Franko was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston where she had formerly served as a Deacon.
She had worked at the former Dudt’s Bakery in Houston and the Bon Ton in Washington.
Her hobbies included shopping, horses, swimming and teaching swimming and life saving lessons.
Mrs. Franko loved the time she spent with her family, especially her granddaughters and great grandsons.
On October 21, 1961, she married John C. Franko who survives.
Also surviving are a son, J. Scott Franko of Canonsburg; a daughter, Hope Slay (Carlos) of Callahan, FL; two granddaughters, Cassi Berlofsky (Stephen) and Kristin McCoy; two great grandsons, Robert Allen Davies IV and Issac Anthony Berlofsky; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Barry Yankosek; and a sister, Joyce Tsai.
Friends will be received from Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 in the First United Presbyterian Church, Houston, where services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Emily Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
