Michael A. Mary

Michael A. Mary, 60, of Washington, died Friday, October 21, 2016 in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

He was born January 9, 1956 in Washington, a son of Frank and Dolores Fischer Mary Jr.

Mr. Mary was a 1973 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.

He had worked for Industrial Rubber Products, formerly Rubber Rolls in Meadow Lands until health issues forced his retirement.

Mr. Mary loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially picking them up from the bus and attending their special school or sporting events. 

Michael was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fly fishing and trapping. His memberships included the Goodwill Hunting Club in Burgettstown and the Arden Athletic Club. 

Mr. Mary was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan.

In August of 1987, he married Sherry Cherokee who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Stephanie Crawford (Eric) of Meadow Lands; three grandchildren, Alexis and Shane Crawford and Bella Robinson; two sisters, Victoria Loulli (Tony) of Washington and Rosalie Wattelet (Mitch) of Scenery Hill; a brother, Patrick Mary (Jennifer) of Denver, CO; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Cherokee of Washington; two sisters-in-law, Tami Cherokee (Dave) and Carla Newland (Jeff) both of Washington; brother-in-law, Mark Cherokee (Jen) of Washington; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, his father-in-law William Cherokee is deceased.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Tuesday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016 with Michaels’s brother Patrick officiating.  Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
