Samuel F. Oliver

Samuel F. Oliver, 70, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, June 30, 2016, in Canonsburg Hospital.

He was born January 30, 1946, in Canonsburg, a son of Samuel and Harriet Filius Oliverio.

Mr. Oliver was a 1964 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.

He had worked for Fisher Body in West Mifflin for 35 years and also was a barber.

Mr. Oliver was a veteran having served in the Army.

He was a member of the Houston Independent Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #191 in Canonsburg, and the American Legion Post #902 in Houston.

On October 2, 2004, he married Barbara Elder, who survives.

Also surviving are: a step son, Joseph Elder (Cara) of Canonsburg; a granddaughter, Madeline Elder; three sisters, Emma Jean Horwatt of Canonsburg, Lucille Leffler of Washington, and Deborah Oliverio of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Katherine Donella, and a brother, John Oliver, are deceased.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, with full military rites accorded by the VFW Post #191 in Canonsburg.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd, Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
