Wayne L. Cimino

Wayne L. Cimino, 85, of Houston, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, in his home with his family by his side.

He was born November 27, 1930 in Houston, a son of Samuel and Cecil Weber Cimino.

Mr. Cimino was a 1948 graduate of Chartiers High School and attended Duquesne University for two years with a football scholarship.

He had worked out of Iron Worker’s Local #3 of Pittsburgh.

Mr Cimino was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Houston and Canon Lodge #204 Knights of Pythias, Canonsburg.

He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

On October 1, 1949, he married Louise Severyn who survives.

Also surviving are seven children, Wayne A. Cimino (Janet Preaux) and Louise M. Cimino (Frank Furano) both of Houston, Cecil V. Corson (Richard) of Bluffton, SC, Lou Ann Kaufman (Dwayne) of Washington, Gwyn L. Green (William) and Terry L. Green (James) both of Canonsburg and Chris Obras (William) of Noblesville, IN; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a brother, Dr. William L. Cimino of Strabane; and many nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.  A celebration of his life will be held at a date to be announced.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Chartiers-Houston Community Library, 730 W. Grant St., Houston, PA 15342.
