Eleanor Helen Russell, 92, of Houston, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in her home.
She was born October 5, 1931, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Kertinic Iducovich.
Mrs. Russell was a graduate of Cecil High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Houston.
She had worked as a LPN at McMurray Hills Manor, a waitress at the former Colony Grill in Canonsburg and at the Meadows.
Eleanor supported the Overeaters Anonymous, was active at the Canonsburg Senior Citizens, enjoyed flower gardening, playing euchre and sending handwritten personal notes.
On October 6, 1952, she married Robert Russell, her husband of over 71 years, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Thomas P. Russell (Lori Caldwell) of Washington; a daughter, Roberta DeWalt (Chris) of Houston; six grandchildren, Robert Russell (Lexi), Thomas Russell Jr. (Whitney), Belinda Patterson, Ellen Cassidy, Dean Lazzaro (Mallory Hadad) and Sam DeWalt; six great grandchildren, Cassie and Cole Patterson, Ella, Quinn and Nash Russell and Kayden Hadad; four step grandchildren, Frankie Lazzaro (Livia), Starr Lynn Lazzaro (Jeremy), Heath Clutter (Sarah) and Alexa Cowden; a sister in law, Lucille Iducovich of New Kensington; four step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Ruth Ann Cassidy; two brothers, Dr. Nick and Steve Iducovich; and two sisters, Ann Moran and Mildred O’Korn.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the time of service, Saturday, March 23, 2024 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Twelve Step Recovery Program of their choice.
