Joyce Faye Wylie, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Her departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her memory will live on forever. Born on June 10, 1942, Joyce grew up in Washington. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Merle Ward Parkinson.
She is survived by her favorite son Bobby Dunkle (Sharon) of Houston, her baby boy Terry Dunkle (TBD) of Houston, her grandchildren Stephen Craig (Kelly) of Washington, Kylie Dunkle of Carnegie, Casey Dunkle of Houston, great grandson, Owen Craig, brother Raymond Parkinson (Mary Jane), sisters Sharon Zets, Kathy Ondash (Frank), Mary L. Crawford, and Tracy Bova (Jesse), sister in law, Darlene Parkinson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joyce pursued careers at Bobby Brooks and The Greenery.
In 1978, Joyce married the love of her life, the late William ‘Moo’ Wylie. Together, they built a life of love and cherished the time they spent together.
In addition to her late husband, she is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Jody Craig, who passed away on August 30, 2023, brothers Stanley Parkinson and Bobby Parkinson, and her Aunt Junie.
Joyce’s hobbies included frequenting casinos and scratch off tickets, watching sporting events and British mysteries on television, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandson Owen.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8, Sunday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2024. Interment in Washington Cemetery will be private.
