Albert E. Badzgon, 93, of Wexford, died Friday, January 10, 2020, in the Wexford Healthcare Center.
He was born June 23, 1926, in McKeesport, a son of John and Anna Miklovic Badzgon.
Mr. Badzgon was a 1944 graduate of McKeesport High School.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy as a gunner on the USS Essex.
Mr. Badzgon was an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 5.
He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Bethel Park where he was active in the men’s bible study.
Mr. Badzgon was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and a lifelong member of the IBEW.
He had a passionate interest in rocks and minerals.
On October 15, 1955, he married Ruth Cramer, who died December 5, 2001.
Surviving are: three children, Camille B. Wortman, and husband Paul, of Providence, Rhode Island, Alita B. Naylor, and husband Mark, of Wexford, and James Badzgon, and wife Karen, of Greentree; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Katie, Andrew, Nathan and wife Nicole, Ryan, Austin, Dillon, and Kiersten; three great grandchildren, Noah, Jacob and Bennett; a brother, Elmer Badzgon, and wife Joan, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Eleanor Iwinski of Irwin and Agnes Eicher of North Fayette Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm, with the service starting at 4 pm, on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church, 5303 Madison Ave., Bethel Park, PA 15102.
