Bette R (Robinson) Green

Bette R. Green, 97, of Hickory, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.

She was born December 10, 1920, in Hickory, a daughter of Oliver and Florence McCalmont Robinson.

Mrs. Green was a graduate of Hickory High School.

She worked for more than ten years as a Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary at the Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

She loved travelling, especially to Myrtle Beach, camping, and visiting her sons who were all in the Air Force at one time.  She was very proud that her sons served their country.

On December 9, 1939, in Hickory, she married Gerard Green who died in February of 1990.  They had celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Surviving are: 5 children, Gerry Green of Castle Rock, CO, Dan Green (Donna) of San Antonio, TX, Denis Green (Sue) of Washington, David “Rick” Green (Kay) of Baldwinsville, NY and Cheryl Mazza (Dennis) of Canonsburg; twelve grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; a brother, Lee Robinson (Billie) of Hickory; and a special niece, Jeanine Miles (Ken) of Hickory.

Deceased are a brother, Ray Robinson and a nephew, Terry Robinson.

All services are private and have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, 724-745-2350.  The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Presbyterian Serniorcare Benevolent Fund, 835 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
