Dorothy J. Havelka, 91, went to be with the Lord and her husband, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, with her family by her side.
She was born May 11, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Piatnick Borza.
Mrs. Havelka was a 1944 graduate of Cecil High School.
Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, and a long-time member of the Christian Mothers and Guild.
Mrs. Havelka was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Her other enjoyments include playing bingo and cards, going to the casino and watching the Pirates.
On October 25, 1947 she married Gerold J. Havelka who passed away October 6, 2013.
Surviving are four children, Gerold “Jerry” Havelka and Christopher Havelka (Margaret) both of Houston, Cheryl Dick of Monroeville and Kathleen Puhr (Richard) of Syrna, TN; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Borza (Marylou) of Bridgeville and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Gertrude Kozak and Pauline Orell; a brother William Borza; and a grandson, John Mullins III.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. Everyone is asked to meet at the church.
