Edwin E. Ringer III

Edwin E. Ringer III, 59, of Hickory, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Cattaraugus Creek in Gowanda, NY, doing what he loved, fishing.

He was born October 5, 1958 in Washington, a son of the Lucille Lagoni Ringer of Hickory and the late Edwin E. Ringer Jr.

Mr. Ringer was a 1976 graduate of Ft. Cherry High School.

He was a retired coal miner having worked from 1977 until his retirement from Consol Energy in 2016.

Mr. Ringer with his wife and sister owned and operated the business his parents started, Ringer Screenprint in Westland.

He was an avid fisherman and took many fishing trips with family and friends.  

On September 20, 1980 he married Rosalie Matesic who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are a son, Edwin E. Ringer IV (Caitlin) of Brooklyn, NY  and a daughter Lauren Ringer-Formanes (Vincent) of Brooklyn, NY; a granddaughter, Elliott Wren Ringer; a sister, Debra Ringer of Marianna; mother-in-law, Josephine Matesic of Cherry Valley; brother-in-law, Joseph Matesic Jr. (Marcy) of Cherry Valley; five nephews, Justin Sienkiel (Rachel), Brandon Sienkiel, (Cassy), Joseph Matesic III, Zachary Matesic and John Matesic; a niece Alyssa Matesic; three great nephew, Ian and Nolan Sienkiel and Christian Jensen.

Deceased in addition to his father are his father-in-law, Joseph Matesic; and a brother-in-law, John Matesic

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2017 with Rev. Gary Gibson officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.  The family suggests memorial contributions to projecthealingwaters.org/donate/.
