Frank A. Skerl III, 76, of Hickory, died Thursday, December 20, 2018, in the Donnell House, Washington.
He was born January 29, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank A. Skerl II and Anna Koss Skerl Ferme.
Mr. Skerl was a graduate of Crafton High School.
He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force
Mr. Skerl had worked for Frame Electric in Pittsburgh, Brown and Powell in Pittsburgh and Bethel Park, and retired in 2013 from Tri-State Supply in Washington.
He was a member of the Meadow Lands United Methodist Church, Westland Sportsman Club, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg, and the American Legion Post 902 in Houston.
Mr. Skerl enjoyed hunting, watching the Steelers and Penguins, and loved spending time with his family.
On June 21, 1968, he married Donna Libert, who survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Frank A. Skerl IV of Coraopolis; a daughter, Jody Vance (William Sr.) of Houston; two granddaughters, Katie Miller (Josh) and Paige Trafzer (Garrett); two great grandchildren, Luke Miller and Emma Trafzer; a sister, Jackie Gallik of Grand Junction, Co.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. At the request of the deceased, interment will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military Honors will be accorded by the Honor Guard from VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg.
