Harry W. Weitzel Jr., 95, of Canonsburg, formerly of Bethel Park, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, in the Donnell House, Washington.
He was born December 20, 1921, in Pittsburgh, a son of Harry Sr. and Belle McKay Weitzel.
Mr. Weitzel was a graduate of South Hills High School.
He had worked at the former Radioear in New Eagle for 57 years.
Mr. Weitzel was a member of Knoxville Baptist Church in Pittsburgh.
He was an avid lottery player, loved Bruegger’s Bagels, Bethel Bakery, milkshakes, telling jokes, watching the news and was a pancake connoisseur.
In 1949, he married Betty Jane Cricks, who died in 2001.
Surviving are: two grandchildren, Julie Chandler (Eric) of Canonsburg and Jason Powell (Janet) of Washington; a great granddaughter, Jasmine Powell; and a son-in-law, Harry Powell Jr.
Deceased are: a daughter, Linda Powell; a sister, Anne Dietrich; and a brother, Jim Weitzel.
