Lorrene A. (Shephard) Bowen

Lorrene A. Bowen, 76, of McDonald, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Canonsburg Hospital.

She was born April 19, 1941 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Lowry and Almeda Broberg Shephard.

Mrs. Bowen was a 1959 graduate of Peters Township High School and graduated in 1961 from Point Park University with an Associate Degree.

Lorrene worked for 25 years for AUMA Actuators Inc. as a receptionist.

Mrs. Bowen was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders.  She loved motorcycle riding and visited every state in the continental US on a motorcycle.

She was a member of the Church of the Covenant in Washington and was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Chapter #97, Canonsburg, where she was a past Worthy Matron.

On August 24, 1963, she married Charles Bowen who survives.

Also surviving are three children, Charlene Dorsey (Willy) of Wheeling, WV, Dru Bowen (Marci) of McDonald and Jescinda Yonish (Mark) of Claysville; seven grandchildren, Wesley, Zachary, Austin, Fallyn, Nikki, Brianna and Christopher; three great grandchildren, Luca, Connor and Ryan; a brother, Alan Shephard (Sandy) of Hickory; a life long friend, Nancy Reedy; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 with her nephew Rev. Dr. Stuart Broberg officiating.  Interment will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Church of the Covenant, 267 East Beau Street, Washington, PA 15342.
