Norma Jean Mullins Strimel, 86, of Chartiers Township, died Saturday, November 3, 2018 in her home with her family by her side.
She was born May 8, 1932 in Canonsburg, a daughter of Charles “Cal” and Isabelle Durand McCartney.
Mrs. Strimel attended the Trinity Schools and was a former member of the Chartiers Crossroads United Presbyterian Church.
She had worked at the former Tiger Valley Glass Factory in Washington, RCA in Canonsburg and Hills Department Store.
Norma had volunteered at the former YWCA in Washington and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, decorating cakes, the casino and spending time with her family camping.
On March 24, 1951 she married John “Barrel” Mullins who passed away March 19 1991. On August 27, 1994 she married Norman Strimel who died October 3, 2013.
Surviving are four children, Sharon Anderson of Chartiers Township, John N. Mullins Jr., of Avella, Terry Lynn Mersino (Bill) of Marshall, TX and her youngest daughter and care giver LuAnn Morris of Cokeburg; seven grandchildren, Dennis Korzinski Jr., David Korzinski (Missy), Stacey Wiley, Chad Mersino (Debbie), Heath Mersino (Ruth), Clint Mersino (Melina) and Jessica Morris; 12 great grandchildren, Tyler and Harley Korzinski, Alex and Destiny Dugan, Brock and Braden Wiley, Nathan Luke ad River Lynn Mersino, Claire Rizzo, Laura Jones and Caleb Varella; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a granddaughter, Sheila Korzinski Dugan; a grandson, John N. Mullins III; and a sister Betty Whitfield.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
