Sandra Ann (Javornicky) Schmidt

Sandra Ann Schmidt, 64, of Canonsburg, passed away, Sunday, July 2, 2017 in her home following a courageous battle against cancer.

She was born, August 17, 1952 in Canonsburg, a daughter of Frank and Rebecca Tinkey Javornicky.

Sandy was a member of VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg.

She enjoyed bingo and playing cards.

For 24 years, she was employed by the Washington Country Club.

On April 15, 1977, she married George Schmidt who survives.

Also surviving are a son, George Schmidt Jr.(Robin) of Washington; a sister, Candice Starr Harvison of Houston; four nieces, Sherry and Marsha Harvison, Tammy Shaw and Tiffany Schmidt; and five nephews, Charles Harvison, William “JR” Welch, Bobby Jo Welch (Tracy), Wayne Schmidt and Ryan Naraskivitch; and several great nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents are, a daughter, Marcy Javornicky; and a sister, Wanda Lynn Taylor.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017.   Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home in her name.
