Virginia Oliveri, 96, of Meadow Lands, died Friday October 12, 2018.
She was born December 30, 1921 in Roncone, Italy, a daughter of Giacomo and Maria Bazzoli Oliveri.
Miss Oliveri worked at the former Montgomery Wards in Washington and was a municipal secretary for Chariters Township.
Virginia was a charter member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Meadow Lands where she was a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Rosary Society and volunteered for the church bingo nights.
She had volunteered at the Washington County Health Center and was a member of the Tyrolean Society.
Her enjoyments included flowers, gardening, knitting and crocheting.
Miss Oliveri was a world traveler and enjoyed going back to her homeland in Italy.
She is survived by a niece, Linda Keegan (Brian) of Richeyville; a sister-in-law, Joan Oliveri of Meadow Lands.
The last of her immediate family, she is predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Oliveri and a nephew, Joseph Oliveri.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Canonsburg. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
