Wendy E. Vincent, 57, of Houston, passed away, Thursday, January 9, 2020 in the West Penn Hospital following a valiant battle with multiple myeloma, with her devoted husband at her side.
She was born April 5, 1962 in Washington, a daughter of Rosalie Gregg Eckels of Houston and the late Edward Eckels.
Mrs. Vincent was a 1980 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984 and followed with her Master’s in Education also from Pitt.
Wendy was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Reader, on the Bishop’s Pastoral Council, involved with the CCD program and was on the Miraculous Medal Parish Council.
She was employed by KPMG in Pittsburgh where she was the Director of Management Consulting.
Wendy loved skiing and golfing.
On April 25, 1988 she married David B. Vincent who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a son, Dr Patrick David Vincent M.D. of Weirton, WV; a daughter, Natalie Brooke Vincent of Houston; a brother, Edward Eckels (Lisa) of Hamilton, NJ; a nephew, Evan Warner Eckels; her mother-in-law, Ann Vincent (the late Kenneth); and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She also leaves her three cats, Holly, Gabbie and Baby and her dog Zoe.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/ Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike Street, Meadow Lands, PA 15347. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
