Wilma C. Simpson, 89, of Eighty Four, died Monday, April 24, 2017, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
She was born July 6, 1927, in Canonsburg, a daughter of William and Edna Aggers Crawford.
Mrs. Simpson was a 1946 graduate of Peters Township High School.
She was a member of Thomas Presbyterian and the former Fairview Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Simpson had worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Company in McMurray.
She enjoyed traveling and her husband’s work for the Dravo Corporation took them to numerous countries and work sites. They had traveled around the world twice.
Mrs. Simpson had many interest including collecting stamps and bells and enjoyed growing flowers and decorating her home for all occasions.
On November 9, 1951, she married John Floyd Simpson Jr., who passed away January 28, 2002.
Surviving are: a sister, Elsie Fetherlin of Stockton, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are: three sisters, Eleanor Grace Crawford who died in infancy, Anna Mae Jurick and Gladys Demo; and twin brothers, Louis and LeRoy Crawford.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, with Rev. Dr. William Youmans officiating. Interment is private.
