Alan H. Boenning, 75, of Houston, passed away, Saturday, November 18, 2023, in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born December 14, 1947, in Camden, NJ, the son of the late Henry and Dorothy Fowler Boenning.
Mr. Boenning was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, having served with the US Marine Corps from August of 1968 until March of 1970 with almost a year spent in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, Rifle Marksmanhip Badge, Vietnam Service Medal w/1star and the Combat Action Ribbon.
Alan was employed by Schneider Engineering of Pittsburgh where he was a project manager.
He collected stamps, lapel pins and World’s Fair memorabilia and was an avid reader and movie watcher.
On July 25, 1970, he married Patricia Lombardi who survives.
Also surviving are a son Adam Boenning (Marian Martin) of Annandale, VA; a sister, Joanne Vallauri of Teleford; a niece Dana Vallauri; and a nephew, Barry Vallauri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.
A Mass of Christian Burial and inurnment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be scheduled for a date to be announced.
