Barbara I. DeMarco, 87, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, in her home with family by her side.
She was born June 30, 1934, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Stewart and Ada Sutcliffe Chambers.
Mrs. DeMarco was a 1952 graduate of Canonsburg High School.
She retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse at South Hills Convalescent Center.
Mrs. DeMarco was a member of the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church.
She loved gardening, cooking and baking.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudy DeMarco.
Surviving are: five children, Charles Hixenbaugh (Kai) of Escondido, CA, Donelle Hoffman (James) of Newville, Robert Hixenbaugh (Margaret) of Washington, Mark Hixenbaugh of Pittsburgh, and Eric Hixenbaugh (Cynthia) of Pasadena, TX; six grandsons, Justin Hixenbaugh (Mandy), Don Smittle (Amber), Robin Hixenbaugh, Jacob Hixenbaugh, Keith Hixenbaugh, and Alexander Hoffman; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Chambers (Barbara) of Cleveland, OH, and Jerry Chambers (Mary) of Washington; three sisters, Garnet McAfee of Washington, Alice Wright (Clarence) of Houston, and Lynda Rubis of Canonsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are: a son, Roger Hixenbaugh; father of her children, Charles D. Hixenbaugh; two brothers, Stewart and Roger Chambers; and a sister, Kathy Chambers.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, with Rev. Peggy Shannon officiating.
