Betty J. Tomasik, 95, of Washington, formerly of Glenfield, died Thursday, December 10, 2020, in Evergreen Assisted Living, Washington.
She was born December 31, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Samuel J. and Gertrude Alice Pownall Johnson.
Mrs. Tomasik graduated in 1942 from Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh.
She had worked as a payroll clerk for Wolverines in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Tomasik was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Glenfield for many years.
She and her husband were members at the VFW Post 402 in Coraopolis where they enjoyed dancing. They would sing and dance for nursing homes around the area.
Mrs. Tomasik was a lifelong fan of Betty Boop.
On July 2, 1946, she married Edward F. Tomasik, who died June 30, 2016.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Tomasik (Margie) of McMurray; a daughter, Mary Alice “Mattie” Susko (David) of Washington; three grandchildren, Wendy Marticek (Ray), Scott Tomasik (Cherri) and Rachel “RJ” Susko (Alex Wells); four great grandchildren, Melissa “Liss” Womack, Brian DiLuigi, Mark Tomasik and Neal Tomasik; and many nieces and nephews.
All services are private and have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
