David Oliver Obituary

David L. Oliver, 67, of Washington died, Thursday, November 25, 2021 in his home following an extended illness.

He was born September 21, 1954 in Canonsburg, a son of Eugene and Margaret Jackson Oliver.

Dave was a 1973 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School where he wrestled, played baseball and was a member of the 1971 Class B Championship Football team.

He had worked for 25 years for Superior Sherwood Valve in Washington then worked for Omni Packaging, Westpoint Computer Products and Eaton Corp. all in Washington.

Mr. Oliver was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Canonsburg.

Dave was an avid sportsman and enjoyed playing in the Men’s Softball Leagues.  It was his passion to be involved with the youth sports programs in the area.  He was very active as a youth coach in wrestling, baseball and football for many years. 

On December 2, 1982, he married Nancy Braun who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Leslee Gwynn (Elroy) of Virginia Beach, VA, Erica Oliver (William Jackson) of McAllister, Anthony Oliver (Mary) of Washington and Keisha Achurra (Daniel) of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren, Niles Gwynn, Anthony and Dani Oliver, Jeremiah Jackson and Cheyenne, Cierra and Ceven Achurra; and many nieces and nephew.

Deceased are a brother, Jeffrey Oliver; and a sister, Beth Oliver who died in infancy.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
