Edward E. “Ted” Snyder, 84, of Houston, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in his home, with his family at his side.
He was born December 5, 1937, in McWhorter, WV, a son of Edward E. and Gene O’Neal Snyder.
Ted was a 1955 graduate of Washington High School.
He was employed for 34 years by Prudential Life and retired as Insurance Sales Manager.
Mr. Snyder was an avid golfer, could often be found at Old Mexico and loved to tell jokes.
On July 30, 1965, he married Barbara Fischer who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Anthony J. “Tony” Snyder and his wife Lori of Pittsburgh; seven granddaughters, Caitlin Snyder, Allison Turner (Larz), Caroline Snyder, Erica Rudd Gottlieb (Andy), Brittney Snyder, Sarah Snyder and Emily Snyder; four great grandchildren, Riley, Payton, Axel and Abigail; a brother, C. Vernon Snyder (Sue) of Toledo, OH; a sister, A. Louise Mahan of Bradenton, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Jean A. Rudd; a son, Edward E. “Ted” Snyder III; and a brother, G. Howard Snyder.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2022. Interment in Forest Lawn Gardens.
