Elizabeth V. "Sis" (Sroka) Orsini Berton

Elizabeth V. “Sis” Orsini Berton, 80 of Canonsburg, formerly Houston, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in the Greenery Center.

She was born December 4, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Spencer Sroka.

Elizabeth had worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Mayview State Hospital and owned and operated with her husband the former Orsini Taxi in Canonsburg.

She was a member of the South Canonsburg Church.  When she was able, she was involved with many of the church activities including singing in the choir, being a greeter, leading the Golden Eagles Bible Study and volunteering for Vacation Bible School.

Sis was an ultimate crafter, enjoyed decorating the house, flower gardening and shopping.

Married twice, her first husband, James R. Orsini passed away in September 1992, her second husband, Robert Berton passed away in January of 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Marie Saieva (James Jr.) of Houston and Adrean Orsini (Christina) of Monessen; two grandchildren, Vincenzo “Jimmy” Saieva III (Jasmine) and Hunter Saieva (Jacob); a brother, Andrew “Sonny” Hullak (Patty) of Canonsburg; a sister, Peggy Conklin (Ron) of Eighty Four; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 Friday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2023, with Rev. Steven Parkhill officiating.   Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Debbie, Pam, Kim, Rhonda, Andi, Amy, Josh, Shawnice, Donnie, Missy, Kelly, Joan, Destiny and the rest of the staff of the Greenery and Suncrest Hospice for their loving care of Betty.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
