Frances Alice Jemison Johnson, 76, of Canonsburg, transferred to her heavenly home, Tuesday, March 24, 2021.
She was born September 19, 1944 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late David and Mariah “Dot” Jemison.
Frances was a 1962 graduate of Fort Cherry High School. Following her graduation, she began her first job at Bobbie Brooks garment factory in Arden. She later became a geriatric aide at Mayview State Hospital where she had worked for more than 25 years before retiring.
Evangelist Frances was a member of the Renewed Destiny Kingdom Church in Westland.
She enjoyed cooking and for a short time had a café in her home in Westland.
On May 25, 1967, she married Floyd Gregory Johnson who preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Samuel Duane Jemison (Kelly) and Eric Angelo Johnson (Tammi) both of Canonsburg; nine grandchildren, Tamika, Jamar, Jordan, Chelsey, Christopher, Ericka, Kayla, Alana and Ahmad; four great grandchildren, Kristinia, Lavender, Maximus, and Amora; two sisters, Freda Kemp and Ann Graves (Alvin) both of Westland; a brother, Rev. David L. Jemison (Marie) of Modesto, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Joseph and Samuel Jemison; and two sisters, Rose Marie Wallace and Mary Ella Kemp.
At this time there will be no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Frances’ life will be celebrated at a later date.
