George F. Ramsey, 95, of Houston, died Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
He was born July 3, 1925 in Canonsburg, a son of George and Ethel Brown Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey was a veteran, having served with the US Army during World War II.
He was a steel worker at the former Universal Cyclops, worked weekends as a truck driver for the US Postal Service, and spent time working at the Arrowhead Service Station and for Strimel Brothers Builders.
George was a member of the American Legion Post #902 in Houston and the Houston Independent Club where he was a former bartender.
He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football, playing euchre and watching westerns on TV.
On August 4, 1945, he married Mary Frankovich who passed away March 27, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Gantz (Frank) of Circleville, NY and Jeanette Morris of Houston; a son, George F. Ramsey Jr. (Trisha) of Washington; four grandchildren, Kristina Skidds (Lon), Kylee Mattern (Travis), Matthew Morris (Jackey) and Jonny Ramsey; three great grandchildren, Owen Skidds and Matty and Quinn Morris; a sister, Marian Marcase (Ron) of Houston and a half sister, Sonia Ballentine of Diamond, OH.
Deceased are a brother, Donald Ramsey; and three sisters, Kathleen Watson, Dolores Yater and Loretta Beton.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services.
