Gertrude D. Knox, 91, of Canonsburg, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023, in her home.
She was born November 6, 1931, in Hill Station, Cecil Township, a daughter of the late Ezekiel Thomas and Hattie Belle Ankrom Davis.
Mrs. Knox had worked at the former Bards Dairy Bar in Canonsburg and as an aid at Canonsburg Hospital and Mayview State Hospital.
Gerti was a member of Central Assembly of God Church in Houston.
Mrs. Knox was a former Pythian Sister with the Knights of Pythias in Canonsburg.
She enjoyed bowling and had been a member of several bowling leagues.
On October 22, 1954, she married James E. Knox who died April 26, 2008.
Surviving are three sons, James E. Knox (Civil) of West Alexander, David Knox (Dolly) of Pittsburgh and Thomas Knox (Suzette) of Everett; a daughter, Karen Knox of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Jared Knox (Lori), Adrienne White (Brandon), Brian Dornan, Jason Dornan (fiancé Stevie McDonald), Rachel Schulz (Josh), Timothy Knox (Kelsey) and Kevin Knox (Hannah); 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three daughters, Donna Rose, Judith and Joyce Knox; two sons, Jeffrey and George Knox; and two brothers and a sister.
At the request of the deceased, there are no services and interment will be private.
