Harvey A. Engel, 86, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 11, 2020 in his home with family by his side.
He was born, March 13, 1934, in Cecil Township, a son of Harvey N. and Catherine Folkens Engel.
Mr. Engel had worked as a dairy farmer in Hickory, a machine operator and foreman at the former Union Forge in Noblestown and retired from Perma-Cote Plastics in Uniontown on August 19, 1999. Following his retirement, he did janitorial and groundskeeping work at Faith Christian School in Washington.
He enjoyed gardening and was a sports fanatic, following the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.
On August 30, 1954, he married Marguerite “Maggie” V. McCartney who died September 13, 2016.
Surviving are two sons, Dan and Allen Engel, both of Canonsburg; a daughter, Cathy Lucas of Washington; three grandchildren, John McClain (Paige), David McClain and Jeffrey Lucas; five sisters, Delores Closser, Irene Hughes (Richard), Alice Boling, Donna Smith and Debra Dorsey (Mark); two brothers, William Engel (Beth) and Kenneth Engel; three great grandchildren, Vanessa, Cameron and Eden McClain; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Carol Ann McClain; a son, Robert Engel; two sisters, Joan Basile and Audrey Engel; and two brothers, Henry “Bud” Engel and Clyde Engel.
Due to present circumstances, services will be private.
