JoAnn Wingfield, 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 15, 2024, in her home with family at her side.
She was born September 27, 1936, in Lynch, KY, a daughter of the late James and Mamie Watkins Myers.
JoAnn had attended Cecil Schools and had worked as a nurses aide for St. Clair Hospital, Mayview State Hospital and Western Center.
She was Baptist and followed Kenneth Copeland Ministries on TV for many years.
JoAnn enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, crocheting and cooking. She was especially known for her spaghetti and her grandfather’s BBQ sauce.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Wingfield (Deborah) of Brownmills, NJ and Randolph Wingfield of Washington; three daughters, Debra Wingfield (Mark Spruill) of Washington, Donna Jean Lloyd (Justin) of Monroeville and Vickie Lee Harris (Carl) of Crafton; thirteen grandchildren, Alicia, Nani, Jennifer, Joanna, Charles III, Randy, Danny, Marlee, Mark Jr., Tamica, Jasmine, John Jr. and Michael; many great grandchildren; five sisters, Jean Willis of Hartsville, SC, Marlene Stephens (Lionel) of Houston, TX, Michelle Johnson and Jacqueline Myers both of Charlotte, NC and Julie Myers of Canonsburg; three brothers, Johnny Myers of Strasburg, VA, Melvin Myers (Carmen) of Brooklyn, NY and Jerome Myers of McKees Rocks; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents are a brother, Jameel Muslim; and three sisters, Mamie McKissick, Marjorie Garrett and Marilyn who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
