John W. Davis, 79, of Canonsburg, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020, in Canonsburg Hospital. He is forever with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born May 2, 1941 in National Hill, S. Fayette Township, a son of Roscoe and Lucille Michell Davis.
Mr. Davis was a 1960 graduate of South Fayette High School where he was a standout athlete in football, baseball, and soccer.
John worked at the former Western Center for more than 20 years before his retirement as Facilities Manager in 2001.
He was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Canonsburg where had served in numerous capacities including Deacon and Trustee and was a member of the Men’s Choir.
On June 29, 1963, he married Charlene Butler who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Tracy Davis of Canonsburg; two sons, Wayne Davis (Heidi) of Bridgeville and John Davis Jr. of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Ryan, Jett, and Jade Davis; a sister, Roe Davis-Thomas (Larry) of National Hill, S Fayette Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five brothers, Charles, Eugene, Roscoe Jr., Clarence, and Glen Davis; and a sister, Norma Hill.
Due to present circumstances, all services will be private.
