John C. Franko Jr., 78, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in the Washington Hospital.
He was born October 1, 1942, a son of John C. and Esther Szafraniec Franko.
John was a 1960 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and attended Penn Commercial and later Allegheny County Community College.
Mr. Franko had worked at McGraw-Edison in Canonsburg and was presently employed at Komatsu (formerly Joy Manufacturing) of Houston.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston.
On October 21, 1961 he married Marilyn Shae Yancosek who passed away March 22, 2017.
Surviving are a son, J. Scott Franko of Canonsburg; a daughter, Hope Slay (Carlos) of Callahan, FL; two grandchildren, Cassi Berlofsky (Stephen) and Kristin McCoy; three great grandchildren, Robert Allen Davies IV, Issac Anthony Berlofsky and Issabelle Shae Berlofsky; two brothers, Ronald Franko (Sherie) of Hartwell, GA and Russell Stevens Jr. (Cindy) of Meadow Lands; a sister, Pamela Andrews (Brian) of Brownsville; and many nieces and nephews
Friends will be received from 2 to 5p.m. Sunday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2021. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
