John G. “Stinky” Knapper, 63, of Canonsburg, died Friday, February 12, 2021 following an extended illness.
He was born November 3, 1957 in Canonsburg, a son of John Mitchell of Pittsburgh and the late Wilma Knapper Cole.
John was a 1977 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School where he was on the wrestling team and continued following Canon Mac sports.
Mr. Knapper was a long-time employee of Sarris Candies where he worked in the warehouse.
He was an avid sports fan, specifically football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving in addition to his father are five siblings, twin brothers, Lester and Charles Cole both of Washington, Joyce Cole of Uniontown, James Cole (Kalie) of Houston and Eva Bozick (Ronald) of Atlanta, GA; 13 nieces and nephews, Phillip Walls, Marissa, Cierra, Shawanda, Brennan, Austin, Charlie, Chelsea, Darnell and Amber Cole, Taylor and Tyra Bozick and Ashley Evans; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. the time of service, Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd, Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.
Masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines should be followed.
