Karen Ann Manning, 78 of Washington, formerly Pittsburgh, died peacefully in her home May 5, 2021 surrounded by her family.
She was born December 14, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late John and Gertrude Turowski Kirklewski.
Karen was a 1960 graduate of St. Augustine High School in her home neighborhood of Lawrenceville.
She had worked for many years at the Allegheny County Courthouse as a clerk under numerous judges.
She enjoyed her time reading, cooking, bowling, and playing her video games. She shared her love for travel and other cultures with her daughter, Karen, and both frequently traveled the world together. Also, she loved spending time with her dogs and cats and granddaughters, for whom she loved dearly.
On July 29, 1963, in Pittsburgh, PA, she married her loving and devoted husband, Eugene Manning, who died December 23, 2009.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen (David) Walsh, granddaughters, Elizabeth (Max) Grandelis and Christine Walsh, sister Linda (Fred) Majewicz, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, her son, Kevin Manning, and brother, Paul Kirklewski, are also deceased.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the St. Raphael Worship Site of St. Jude Parish, 1118 Chislett St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 with Rev. John Sweeney as celebrant. Interment will follow at Allegheny Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local humane society in honor of her love for animals.
