L. Michael Hawkins, 69, of Washington, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2021, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born October 14, 1951 in Washington, a son of Willis and Edna Mae Pettit Conklin.
Mr. Hawkins had worked for Job Corps as a laborer and cook.
Michael was a Christian and read his Bible every evening.
He was a fan of old horror movies and cartoons and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On January 3, 1980 he married Marian Gregg who died December 28, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Jodi Jimenez of Washington and Kristin Seng of Strabane; a son, L. Michael Hawkins, Jr. of Canonsburg; five sisters, Sandy, Nancy, Wilma, Grace and Bonnie; a brother, Herbert “Skip” ; 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Charles and Harold.
At the request of the deceased all services are private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home in Mr. Hawkin’s name.
