Margaret P. "Peg" (Walker) Betonte

Margaret “Peg” Betonte, 93, passed away peacefully, one day shy of her 94th  birthday, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in her home.

She was born October 18, 1929, in McDonald, a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Shiel Walker.

Mrs. Betonte was a member of the St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish.

On July 29, 1950, she married Ralph Betonte who died July 8, 1995.

Surviving are three children, Ralph Betonte, Tina Rohde and Richard Betonte all of Strabane; four grandchildren, Angela Ghelarducci (Jeff), Tara Hoelscher (Keith), Kris Rohde and Waulker Betonte; five great grandchildren, Jack and Charlene Ghelarducci, Vincent Rohde and Kennedy and Greyson Hoelscher; a sister Loretta Stewart of Muse; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, James Betonte; three sisters, LaVerne Brennan, Janet Burgess and her twin, Patricia Bernardi; five brothers, Paul, Bill, Jim, Jack and Tom Walker.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, in St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish, Canonsburg.   Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
