Obituary

Martha C. Shuman, 76, of Cecil, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House, with her family at her side.

She was born May 25, 1947, in Washington, a daughter of the late Arthur and Flora Furbee Hay.

Mrs. Shuman attended Washington High School.

Martha loved her grandchildren and followed all they did. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends and maintaining her flowers.

On January 29, 1976, she married Albert Lee Shuman who died September 26, 2022.

Surviving are two sons, Brian Shuman (Jennifer) of Hickory and Shawn Shuman (Julie) of Southpointe; a stepson, Albert “Butchie” Shuman Jr. (Lori) of Washington; seven grandchildren, Christina Molinaro (J.P.), Nicholas Shuman (fiancé Nora) and Rebecca, Kaden, Kaleigh, Maura and Easton Shuman; four great grandchildren, Charlie and Jameson Molinaro, Bailey Shuman and Jaiden Ranegar; a brother, Arthur Hay (Sally) of Washington; a sister Darlene Byrd (Russell Sr.) of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, a sister, Debbie Byrd is deceased.

At the request of the deceased there will be no services or visitation. Interment will be private.
