Matthew J. Wylie, 57, of Houston, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, in the Washington Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born November 21, 1965, in Washington, a son of the late James and Donna Capozzoli Wylie.
Matt was a 1983 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and attended Duff’s Business School for restaurant management.
Mr. Wylie had worked as manager for Ponderosa, facilities manager for Schwan’s Food Service and had owned and operated Wylie’s Restaurant in Houston.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston, Houston Independent Club and a social member at the American Legion Post #902 in Houston.
Matt enjoyed playing the slots at the casino, traveling, sports, especially the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins, his pets and spending time socializing with friends and family.
On March 2, 1991, he married Betty Stuchell who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jacob M. Wylie (Mickey) of Laguna Niguel, CA; a daughter, Stephanie Taylor (Cody) of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Willow Taylor; three sisters, Jayme Marshall (Mark) of Canonsburg, Michelle O’bosky (Jim) of McDonald and Jennifer Wylie of Washington; an aunt, Joanne Phillips of Houston; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022, with Rev. Benjamin Libert officiating.
