Michael H. Poore

Michael H. Poore, 68, of Cecil passed away, Sunday, November 13, 2022.

He was born May 22, 1954, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Harvey and Anita Cercone Poore.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Hopewell High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Penn State University in 1976.  He worked  in the IT field for several companies including National Steel, Genix, Revive and finally ACS from which he retired.

Mike had a love for traveling and had been to 48 states and several countries.  He had a knack for being very detail oriented and loved to stick to his itinerary.  Mike loved to keep his mind sharp.  When he wasn’t traveling, or spending time with his family, he enjoyed reading and golfing.  You could find him on the golf course at least three or four days a week. He never missed an opportunity to work on his swing.

While at Penn State, he met Susan Alimena who would become his wife on September 17, 1977.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Ashley Poore of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mary Ann Gress (John) of Ambridge; a brother, Raymond Poore of Hopewell; nephews, John Gress (Jennifer), Mitchell Poore (Jessica) and Garrett Poore.

In lieu of a traditional memorial service, Michael has requested to have a Celebration of Life with close friends and family at a later date.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
