Nancy A. Magera, 87, of Canonsburg, died Sunday, April 7, 2024, at home.
She was born January 13, 1937, in New Eagle, a daughter of Robert and Nancy Anders Livingston.
Mrs. Magera grew up in Cokeburg and was a 1954 graduate of Ellsworth High School.
Nancy had worked as a Medical Assistant for several area doctors for 35 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church since 1966, where she had served as an Elder, Deacon, member of the choir, bell choir, Ukeladies, a Sunday school teacher, and a youth group leader.
Mrs. Magera was a member of the Presbyterian Women, was a 20-year volunteer coordinator for Canonsburg-Houston Meals on Wheels, and Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Chapter #97 in Canonsburg.
She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On February 19, 1955, she married Walter T. "Tucker" Magera who died May 1, 2007.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Hofrichter (Timothy) of Canonsburg; a son of Thomas Magera (Allison) of Swiftwater; two grandchildren, Joshua Hofrichter (Robin) and Jillian Klezia (Jeremy); five great grandchildren, Reid, Evan and Leanna Klezia and Matthew and Nathan Hofrichter; two sisters, Barbara Husarchik of Clearwater, FL and Janet Scott of Canonsburg; a brother, Charles Livingston (Deb) of Littleton, CO; a sister-in-law, Janet Livingston of Monroeville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Robert Livingston is deceased.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2024 in the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Rd., Canonsburg, PA 15317. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
