Nella Jane (Phillips) Vosel

Nella Jane Vosel, 90, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, October 11, 2018, in Family Hospice, Mt. Lebanon Township.

She was born December 12, 1927, in Cecil Township, a daughter of Scott and Blanche Fair Phillips.

Mrs. Vosel was a 1945 Cecil High School graduate.

She had worked for 30 years at Woodville State Hospital as a nurse.

Mrs. Vosel was a lifelong member of the Venice United Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed camping, traveling, her flower garden and being outside.

On March 6, 1965, she married Michael F. Vosel Jr., who survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, Allen Barni (Darlene) of Cecil Twp. and Gary Barni of Johnstown; a granddaughter, Jamie Bomberger (Scott); two great grandsons, Wyatt and Samuel Bomberger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family, preceded in death by five sisters, Ethel Martorana, Dorathea Bernardine, Laura Wallace, Amanda McClure, and her twin sister, Norma Jean Parillo, and two brothers, Everett and Darlington Phillips.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.  Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Family Hospice, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15342.
