Norma Estella Wingfield, 84, of Lawrence, died Friday, February 4, 2022, in the Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1937, in Colon, Panama, a daughter of Charles and Leanora Campbell Drakes.
Norma graduated from high school in Panama and attended ICM School of Business.
She had worked for Western Center and McGraw-Edison in Canonsburg and Kinder Care and Black Box both in Lawrence.
Ms. Wingfield had been a member of the St. John Baptist Church in Lawrence where she sang in the choir.
She was a former member of the Eastern Star and NAACP and was in the foster parent program for many years.
Surviving are five children, Dilcia Wingfield of Alexandria, VA, Barbara Bethel of Lawrence, William Wingfield of Washington, Lawrence Wingfield of Lawrence and Anthony Wingfield (Sandra) of Fredericksburg, VA; seven grandchildren, Yaushantta Wingfield Rice (Chris), Craig Bethel (Justine), Nickeya Wingfield, Chaz Severns (Rikki), Lawrence Wingfield Jr. (Kelly), Xavier Severns and Octavian Banks; 11 great grandchildren, Stephen and Jaysen Rice, RaJah Bethel, Chaz, Chanel, Giana and Bralon Wingfield, Justis and Aleah Severns, Brian Milligan, and Ashley Ruffa; a great great-granddaughter, Elliauna Bly; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two grandsons, Jasen and Justin Wingfield; a brother, Kenneth Francis Drake; and three sisters, Dorothy, Kathleen and Ruth Cunningham.
Friends will be received from Noon to 1:00 p.m. the time of service, Friday, February 11, 2022, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Interment will be private in Forest Lawn Gardens.
