Rev. Carol J. Vogel, 88, passed peacefully into the hands of her Lord, Friday, January 14, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born December 25, 1933 in Canonsburg, a daughter of Rev. Ralph T. and Evelyn Poole Kemper.
Carol was a 1951 graduate of Canonsburg High School and graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY in 1955. She became an ordained minister in 1963.
Rev. Vogel was a retired elementary school teacher for the Canon-McMillan School District.
She was a member of the South Canonsburg Church where she was quite active for many years while her husband was Pastor.
Most important to Carol were her church and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On March 23, 1957 she married Dr. David W. Vogel who passed away April 13, 2012.
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Rev. Ralph Vogel and his wife Rev. CynthiaVogel and Rev. Joy Furda and her husband Rev. James Furda both of Gibsonia, Rev. Doreen Parkhill and her husband Rev. Steven Parkhill of Canonsburg and Rev. Andrew Bails and his wife Rev. Michelle Bails of Wexford; eight grandchildren, David Vogel (Leslie), Jordan Furda, Kerith Holt (Jonathan), Katelynn Furda, Kemper Vogel (Arielle), Kari and Josiah Parkhill and Bryan Bails; ten great grandchildren, Julianna and Liam Siso, Ellie, Isaiah and Edie Jane Vogel, Dawson, Cashton and Bexley Jean Holt and Kemper Allen and Vivienne Kay Vogel; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Leon Kemper; and three sisters, twins, Loislee Brandyberry and Lauralee Rockwell and Eldama Kemper.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 5:00 pm Monday, January 17, 2022 in the South Canonsburg Church, 12 South Central Ave., Canonsburg, PA 15317. Final goodbyes will take place from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm, the time of service. Interment will be private in the Pittsburgh Bible Institute Cemetery, Gibsonia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Heights International Missions, 500 Salem Lane, Gibsonia, PA 15044.
