Richard G. “Dick” Welch, 69, of Washington, formerly Hickory, died Sunday, October 3, 2021 in the Washington Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1952 in Washington, a son of the late Matthew Reed and Dorothy Beadling Welch Jr.
Mr. Welch was a 1970 graduate of Fort Cherry High School.
Dick was and engineering manager for Smith Steelite in Pittsburgh for 15 years, retiring in 2003 due to disability.
He was a member of the Church of the Covenant in Washington and had grown up in the Hickory U.P. Church.
Mr. Welch was a member of the Hickory Lions Club, the Richard Vaux Lodge #454 F & AM and belonged to the Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh.
Surviving are four daughters, Renee Ferrari (John) of Jefferson, Heather Rohaley (Jamie) and Elizabeth Welch both of Midway and Rachel Cooper (Patrick) of Hickory; five grandchildren, Colton Ferrari, Connor and Evelyn Rohaley and Nicholas and Michael Cooper; two brothers, M. Reed Welch (Shirley) of Los Gatos, CA and John “Jack” Welch of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased, all services are private.
